Hidden trails of Hautes Fagnes - trail from Spa to Roetgen

I jumped from a turf to rock and from rock to turf dodging the deep mud. I did not notice that the water is getting deeper. My feet were getting more and more wet. Soon I realized I am trapped. Turning back wasn't an option anymore and as far as I could see, there was no path. The fens swallowed me.

It was very impulsive decision to go for an autumn run at Hautes Fagnes. I packed my small backpack on Friday, jumped on a night bus to Antwerp, and 8:10 I was arriving at Spa train station (after walking couple of hours around Antwerp).

I was inspired by other hiker who did a four-day round trip. My plan was however to cross to Germany in a day. The hike was quite demanding at some places as the paths were either gone or very muddy. However, it all turned out wonderfully.
