Singapore, why are you so cold?
Singapore is one of not many rich cities in tropical rainforest climate, not that far from the equator. The temperatures are regularly over 30°C from the very morning.. It is obvious, Singaporeans are depressed from not having snow so they compensate this using air condition in hope that once it will start snowing.
Yes, it is true. Despite outside the temperature can be as high as 37°C, you often enter a building, get on a bus, and it feels like on the North Pole. Not that it is not sometimes pleasant, particularly after you had to run for the bus. But if you are spending in such space more than 15 minutes, it becomes a hell. Last time, the thermometer in a bus showed 16°C.
It is really boring: lots of people here must wear long trousers or at least take with them pullover and blanket. And it is soo ungreen. I remember that in those temperature, in South Korea in summer they already were turning off the AC to save energy. It must cost more than heating in far in the north of Norway.
Just push the temperature 2 or 3 degrees up and everyone will be happy. I won't have a spoiled day when I forget my pullover and we save on energy, what do you think Singapore?
