Thought on fast food in Asia

I just forcedly lunched at KFC in Kota Kinabalu airport, and I feel tricked. Fast food here in Asia so much doesn't make sense to me. It puzzles me that it still prospers.

Like from all the zillion options at main NTU canteen (uni in Singapore) McDonalds was still the favorite option among students while being the most expensive and with most extreme waiting time. Ironic..

Why it doesn't make sense? Because Asian cuisine is fast food in itself, most of the Asian restaurants and stalls will get you your plate in less than 2 minutes. It is just better tasting, cheaper, and healthier.

In western countries fast food is cheap and easy option, in eastern Europe fast food isn't cheap but it's at least fast comparing to ordinary restaurants where you usually wait for your meal. But in Asia it doesn't offer anything, except "cool" western culture.

The bottom line is that McDonald and KFC are extremely successful business models , one must admire this.
